I love the eye and the texturing of the (leather?) mask. Also, the composition is good and I like the muted tones for this one. And you've got excellent detail in the highlights on the metal and glass parts.

My only complaint, and it's pretty minor, is that there isn't a whole lot to establish shape in the head. Your shading there is somewhat flat, esp. above the mask. is that intentional? I could definitely see it as such, but it's a little inconsistent with the superb modeling on the mask itself.

Also, I wonder what it might look like with the black background a little blacker. But I don't think you've made any mistake there or anything. I just wonder if doing that to help distinguish the subject from the bg would help. Perhaps, perhaps not.

Phil-thank you for the well write crit, i agree with you in some ways, i painted in the head itself and i am a newb at that, i couldnt get the positioning and all perfect and it ended up looking abit flat, and i ended up leaving it.

this is wild.... i like the flatness of the shading on the mask... it has more to it rather than if you had tried for a 3d effect... its like you took the head and did a scanner shot of it.... that to me makes the image even more interesting.
what really grabbed my eyes is the blending ... its seamless and pure.
